We recently completed design work for the inaugural Borders Music and Comedy Festival 2009. The event – organised by Scottish Borders Council, DF Concerts & the Gilded Balloon – brought some of the best in Scottish music and comedy to venues in Selkirk, Kelso & Melrose.

The pilot festival featured a mix of established and up-and-coming acts, with shows from Idlewild, McIntosh Ross, Janey Godley, Craig Hill, Broken Records, Phil Kay and the Trashcan Sinatras all taking place over the first 2 weeks in November.

Baseline designed the event logo itself, along with the supporting event literature and advertising.

As is usually the case at Baseline, we disappear for a couple of months and briefly re-surface every now and again with whatever we’ve been up to…

And never one to disappoint, we’ve recently been busier than ever working on the various promotional materials needed for what’s promising to be one of this year’s musical highlights, ‘Homecoming Live – The Final Fling’ – taking place on Nov 28th at the SECC in Glasgow. A line-up in Hall 3 at the SECC  with Idlewild, Teenage Fanclub and The Vaselines – amongst others, is enough to keep us more than happy with all the work that’s been involved – and (we hope) showcases what we continue to do best – effective, creative design solutions that more than match expectations.

Through our screen-print off-shoot with Handcooked Posters, Baseline designed two new prints for Idlewild’s Oct/Nov UK tour – based around song titles and lyric themes from their new album – ‘Post Electric Blues’. The designs of the two prints were also used for tote bags and t-shirts produced for the tour’s new merchandise range, with one of our other poster submissions being used for the tour t-shirt shown below (reverse print only – front print as on our home page).

Once again, we’re really pleased to have been working with the band, and hopefully there will be more poster-related additions to our portfolio very soon…

Once again, we were really pleased to be involved in producing a wide range of work for T in the Park – our 16th year of involvement with Scotland’s favourite music festival.

While the bulk of our work is done on the production side of the festival, this year it included the hand-painting of 25 signs for the festival’s luxury camping area – The Residence, along with a spot of improvised grass painting thrown in!
