HYDRO CONNECT

A lot of our work over the summer of 2008 culminated with The Hydro Connect Music Festival at the end of August. A chaotic, yet hugely enjoyable Summer working on Hydro Connect, T in the Park and The Edge Festival came to a close against the spectacular backdrop of Inveraray Castle, its beautiful surroundings and some of the best music around.
This image was used as the poster side of the A3 fold out guide to Hydro Connect.
GRAHAM ROBERTSON SONY CENTRE

Graham Robertson’s Sony Centre came to us to help them focus their branding into two distinct, yet complimentary looks which would interchange and allow cross selling across the range of services they provide. They use top quality Sony products to provide custom home and commercial audio visual installations, which are discreet and technologically up to the minute.
We revamped the existing look to make it more subtly appealing to the audience, and simultaneously created a complimentary look for the AV installation arm of the business, which would target a more discerning and design-led customer.
Both looks were unveiled through a series of literature presented at the ‘Homes & Interiors Scotland’ Exhibition at the SECC, along with a custom designed and built exhibition stand featuring the same graphic elements to tie the whole brand together and maintain consistency.
EDGE FESTIVAL 08

This year, T on the Fringe is no more, but has been replaced by the brand new Edge Festival, which runs throughout August and crams as many of the best live acts around as possible into Edinburgh all month.
We were asked to come up with a branding style from the logo through to supplementary graphics, and visual elements that could be applied to dress venues and make up marketing literature to excite gig goers.
This brochure is the official rundown of all the acts playing over the month – a handy pocket sized point of reference with dates, venues, door times and prices, as well as information on the bands themselves.
DENIS O. BROWN, INSURANCE BROKERS

Denis O. Brown approached us on recommendation to undertake their identity work.
Although having being established for over 20 years, the company had never used professional design, but had identified the need to visually better represent the company and its values.
With the client having little experience of the design process and the various considerations involved, we worked closely them at all stages in the development of their logo.

BASELINE SELF PROMO AD
We decided to approach the layout of this advert purely from the perspective of highlighting our new website and web address.
The ad accompanied a feature on music festival branding, so an illustrative “ping-pong” piece of illustration work between 2 designers – both contributing their own content – was decided as a unique, one off and fun way of doing something a little bit different.
PATHWAYS TO WORK

Pathways to Work is a new government based initiative to encourage people currently claiming Incapacity Benefit to try to get back into work. We’ve created an identity that shuns the usual dull and dreary images for a more upbeat and positive illustrative theme to catch eyes and turns heads – and hopefully drawing attention to the many benefits of working.
HYDRO CONNECT MUSIC FESTIVAL, INVERARAY CASTLE

This year’s Connect Music Festival – which takes place at the end of August in Inveraray – will be sponsored by Scottish Hydro Electric, and baseline were brought in by the festival promoters (DF Concerts) to adapt the existing festival logo to effectively incorporate Scottish Hydro Electric’s branding and to further develop and implement the advertising of this unique boutique event. THE EDGE FESTIVAL, EDINBURGH

We were approached to design the logo for the latest music festival in Scotland – The Edge Festival, which is replacing the highly-acclaimed T on the Fringe event. The Edge Festival will comprise of an eclectic mix of some of the best live acts spanning a variety of musical genres – all playing in some of the best music venues in Edinburgh throughout August. We’re looking forward to it already…
SCOTTISH WOODLANDS

Scottish Woodlands came to us to revamp their company profile which was in need of a freshen up. We created a fresh theme for the company literature based around natural colours and combined it with strong photography to show a more modern approach to the well established woodland company.
SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST 2008

For the third year in a row, we’ve won the work for the Scottish Arts Council’s annual exodus of some of the best bands in Scotland to SxSW in Austin, Texas. We’ve been working on posters, cd’s, magazine layouts and flyers, as well as the Scottish entry to the highly acclaimed Flatstock poster exhibition.
