10/10/11 – NEW LOGO TIME…

10/10/11 – FLATSTOCK EUROPE 6
Yet another event that came and went with no mention here was Flatstock Europe 6 in Hamburg at the end of September – with our gig poster work on show again as part of the Reeperbahn Festival.
7/10/11 – GIG POSTER EXHIBITION
A selection of our gig poster work is on display at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop Gallery as part of their ‘This is a Gig Poster’ exhibition. The show runs from now up ‘til 20th October and showcases the work of Nick Rhodes, Telegramme Studio, We Three Club, Twoducksdisco, Army of Cats and Ferres Design. Prints will also be on-sale from the venue.
7/10/11 – RODDY WOOMBLE TOUR MERCHANDISE
Alongside the very limited run of black/silver & red tour posters shown above, we designed & printed an edition of black/white & light blue screen-prints for Roddy Woomble’s current tour – with the print design also adapted for use on the tour t-shirt.
7/10/11 – AWARDS WIN
A big “thank you” to everyone who voted for Douglas (and the Handcooked stuff) in The Scottish New Music Awards – somehow we’ve also managed to keep quite a tight lid on winning the ‘Poster Artist of the Year’ Award so far… although it was great to get some recognition for all the poster-related efforts made so far.
7/10/11 – HEIDI TALBOT TOUR MERCHANDISE
6/10/11 - WE’RE STILL HERE, HONEST!
13/5/11 - AWARDS NOMINATION
Last month got off to a fantastic start with news of a nomination for Handcooked/Douglas Walker in the category of ‘Poster Artist of the Year’ in the inaugral Scottish New Music Awards 2011 – an exciting new event being held later this year at the legendary Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, created to recognise individuals’ contributions towards the vitality of the Scottish music industry.
More info/links for all the music industry nominees (inc. those in the poster category) can be found here, and the award winners will be decided upon through online voting – which is now open, and closes 1st August.
A vote for Handcooked can be made here. Please note: the nomination is under Douglas Walker – and not under Handcooked or Baseline.
There are 27 nomination categories, and a vote in every category IS required – although there’s no log-in procedure for voting and it WILL only take a couple of minutes to complete. Thanks!
Do take your time if you can though, as there’s quite a few worthwhile nominees in each category worth your support/vote/more recognition within the industry – and these new awards sound like a great way to help achieve that.

18/3/11 - SCOTTISH WOODLANDS CORPORATE LITERATURE
We’ve just completed both the re-designed Scottish Woodlands client newsletter and their company profile brochure.

17/3/11 - DESIGN PITCH WIN
After winning a 3 way design pitch to rebrand Artlink Central, we were delighted to see the logo officially unveiled with the launch of “The Illustrators” – an exhibition of contemporary children’s book illustration.
Curated by Julia Donaldson, a patron of Artlink Central, the exhibition runs until 2nd May at the Park Gallery at Callendar House in Falkirk.
“We have worked very closely with Baseline to develop the winning logo and we feel this logo is a strong, professional and more importantly accessible design’ - Artlink Central’s director Kevin Harrison.
26/8/10 – NEW WEBSITE
Welcome to the new Baseline website… it’s been a while!
The revised site structure takes a more visual approach to conveying our work and what we do – allowing our portfolio to be far more easily accessible than before. The portfolio section will be further expanded as time permits, with additional content added over the next few weeks.
As with our last website, this one has been built using WordPress (although demonstrating a big step up in skill levels and the software itself since the last site had been done) – allowing us to design and create a fully content-managed website which is easily updated and maintained. That’s the theory anyway… client work always coming first as ever!
19/8/10 – FLATSTOCK EUROPE
Baseline’s screen-printing offf-shoot – Handcooked Posters – will be participating in this year’s FLATSTOCK EUROPE 5 (FLATSTOCK 28) poster show – which is part of the 3 day Reeperbahn Music Festival held in Hamburg, Germany from Sept 23rd – 25th.
Flatstock Europe is the biggest poster show held outside of the USA, and is presented by the American Poster Institute (API). While FLATSTOCK is a series of exhibitions mainly held across the US at various music events (SXSW, Bumbershoot, etc), Flatstock Europe features a wide range of work from gig poster artists from across the USA, UK, Canada, Germany and the rest of Europe. The API is a non-profit corporation dedicated to serving poster artists and promoting this art form to a wider audience, and since 2002 FLATSTOCK has presented the general public with an ongoing series of opportunities to see gig poster art in person and also provides an opportunity to meet the artists behind it all.
